The scheduling is static according to what is specified in the backup's schedule sets. There is a better alternative to deleting and re-creating the job which is putting the job schedule on hold.
On the Job Status screen
On the Job Calendar screen:
Click the job and select "⏸Hold Schedule" to pause the backup from running.
Click the job and select "▶Resume Schedule" to re-activate the backup.
