When deploying the Cached Credential Utility (CCU), the program is not starting. Upon checking on the CachedCredSvc.log, the following error logged:

Ursache

The encrypted username and password hash in the configuration file was generated from the previous version of CCU. Copy/pasting hash to update_msi.cmd has added characters by mistake, Or password contains : ; " characters.
Lösung

Re-generate the username and password hash tag from the same CCU version of cachecredconf.exe and update the MSI installer again. Make sure that specified account's password does not contain ; ; " characters.
Note: it's recommended to delete setup.msi file before running update_msi.cmd
