The KACE appliance (K1000 or K2000) system is requesting a root login on the console. The WebUI is down and not able to reach the appliance when browsing to the WebUI location.
Message: Enter root password, or ^D to go to multi-user.
Contact KACE support for assistance with this issue by creating a service request. Support will call to arrange a WebEx session to attempt to repair the filesystem. In the Service Request please note if there were any power interruptions to the appliance and if back-ups are being completed.
Do Not Reboot the system as this could cause additional issues.
Obtain the following information to be included in the Service Request.
1. What is the version currently running on the K1000 / K2000 appliance?
2. If the system is Physical, provide the Service Tag and we will need console access to the appliance via iDRAC (included with 12g and 13g hardware) or KVM over IP.
3. If the system is Virtual, is the Appliance on HyperV or VMWare? Support will need access to the virtual console.
Support will provide additional information or links which may be needed to attempt to restore the appliance.
