Why does CPUU carry out a "ping" command prior to processing an Outlook profile? -
Ursache
By default, CPUU executes an ICMP echo request ("ping") to test connectivity to the Exchange server before attempting to process a profile. This is carried out purely so that the process can fail and terminate quickly if there is no connectivity. -
Lösung
In some environments ICMP is blocked either by client firewalls or by switches/routers. The tool can be set to not carry out the ping by setting the "SkipPing" parameter in the CPUU.ini file to 1. (By default this value ois set to 0).

Setting the SkipPing parameter to 1 has no other effect on how the OUtlook client profile is updated.CPUU automatically skips pIng when the client profile is logged on to via RPC over HTTP.
