Managing multiple OS credentials for the same user account can make investigate and resolve connection issues challenging, and make it difficult to manage password changes.
This knowledgebase article demonstrates how to merge multiple credentials for the same account for easier account management.
Merging credentials
If two or more credentials successfully log into agents and they are for the same userid (and password). users to copy the resource mappings from one credential to the other, merging them together.
1) To merge credentials, begin by selecting the primary credential that will hold the resource mapping from the other (duplicate) credentials. In this example CORP.MYCOMPANY.COM\testuser as all of the "Domain, User Name, and Password (Windows)" credential types all use this same domain, username, and password. In this example, the CORP.MYCOMPANY.COM\testuser has only two (2) resource mappings in the # column.
2). Click the edit icon and edit the Resource Mappings.
3). Click the Copy button in the popup that appears.
4). Highlight the Credential to Copy from, in this example we have selected the testuser credential with the largest number of resource mappings (14). Then click the Add button.
5). The Update Resource Mappings popup will now show all of the resource mappings that were added. Click the Save button
6). In the Manage Credentials panel, the updated credential should now show a updated total number of resource mappings (16) including both the original mappings (2) and the newly added mappings (14).
7). Once the mappings of the from the older credential have been added, the older credential can be deleted by selecting the checkbox in the credential row and clicking the delete button
Once the credential cleanup is complete, the goal would be to have a minimal number of credentials remaining as shown below. This will make password managing easier for users. In this example what remains is

2). Replace the credential name with the new name and then click the Save button
Here is an example of how the updated credentials can look
