Change Auditor agent start-up on Exchange causes Outlook connections to be disconnected (4362564)

During start-up of the Change Auditor agent on Exchange server, Outlook connections are reset.

Outlook connections to Exchange are reset during agent start-up so that all mailbox connections are audited from that moment forward.

As per the User guide, Quest recommends that the agent install/start-up on Exchange mailbox/cas servers be scheduled for periods of reduced user activity.

WORKAROUND:

Configure the following registry key below on all mailbox servers before the agent install/start-up to skip user disconnect logic.

Disable RPC Disconnect logic:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Dell\ChangeAuditor for Exchange\
Value: (DWORD 32-bit) SkipDisconnect
Setting: 1

Note: If skip disconnect logic is enabled the user's Outlook session will not be audited until the next time the user re-connects to Exchange.
