Export and Import Searches, Auditing Configuration, Protection Configuration, and Other Configurations
1. In the client connected to the current database, have each user that has custom searches and reports go to their searches, right-click, and select Export. This can also be done on the folder that contains the searches or the searches themselves.
2. Then, have the administrator go to View>Administration.
3. Once the Administration Tasks tab is load, at the top, go to Action>Export.
4. On the resultant screen, check every checkbox, except for Coordinator, and click Ok.
5. Save the xml file to an accessible location. This contains all Change Auditor auditing, protection, and configuration settings.
6. Ensure that the security permissions have been applied to the new SQL instance. (The service account on the coordinator needs dbCreator on the master db to create the database.)
7. Then, go to the systray on the coordinator machine, right-click the orange coordinator icon, and select Coordinator Configuration. This is where the coordinator will be pointed to the SQL instance and where it will create the new database. Be sure to rename the database, as this will trigger the new database to be created.
8. Update the SQL server connection info and click OK. It will ask if you want to restart the coordinator, say OK.
9. Once the database is created and the coordinator running (systray, coordinator icon, Coordinator Status), open the Change Auditor client.
10. Go to View>Adminstration, the Action>Import and select the xml file you exported.
11. Then, have the users import their searches.
12. There should be nothing needing done with the agents, as nothing changed on their side or with the coordinator, only the SQL connection changed.
13. If you run into any issues, open a Support Service Request and send the ChangeAuditor.ServiceLog.nptlog located at C:\Program Files\Quest\ChangeAuditor\Service\Logs located on the coordinator machine
