Exception: AddList - Error [Versioning must be enabled and the number of major versions must be between 1 and 50000.] -
Description
When migrating a List to SharePoint Online, versions do not migrate completely, and are out of order.
Migration job produces following error:
"Exception: AddList - Error [Versioning must be enabled and the number of major versions must be between 1 and 50000.]"

Cause
This is an Acknowledged issue with Metalogix Content Matrix. -
Resolution
- Upgrade to Content Matrix 9.2.0.4 or higher, which contain a fix for the issue.
OR
- If unable to perform upgrade to version 9.2.0.4 or higher and unable to upgrade MEWS due to ongoing migrations, please refer to this KB.
