What is causing this?
This error may appear if the "Quest Collaboration Services Objects" container has been deleted from Active directory.
This error has also been seen after QCS was un-installed and re-installed. The "Quest Collaboration Services Objects" container was selected to be created under the current "Quest Collaboration Services Objects" OU but for some reason it was not created.
Please re-create the "Quest Collaboration Services Objects" in the original location.
If the issue is due to the re-install of QCS then a new OU will need to be created under the current Quest Collaboration Services Objects, OU=Quest Collaboration Services Objects,OU=Quest Collaboration Services Objects.
The permission for the service account should be applied at the first OU. It should be added by right clicking on the top Quest Collaboration Services Objects OU and selecting Properties. Then select the Security tab and then the Advance button. Select Add and get the service account. When the permission for the service account opens, select Full Control under the Allow column. Make sure the Apply onto: window has "This object and all child objects" in it. Do not select or change anything else. Select OK all the way out of the properties.
