Directory Connector not creating contacts in AD after association to user object has been broken.

The CMN Directory Connector had mapped a Notes user to an existing Active Directory user object because of a matching Association rule. However, it is later determined that desired outcome would be that the CMN Directory Connector creates a contact object. 

The Association rules can be viewed by right-clicking on the user connector | Advanced Settings | Users | Association tab. Default associations match a Notes user to an existing Active Directory object by matching the Notes Internet Address ("mail" attribute) to the "mail" or "proxyAddresses" attribute(s) in Active Directory.

If the matching attribute is removed from the Active Directory user object a contact may not be created by the CMN Directory Connector.

 

In order to "update" the CMN Directory Connector to reflect that the matching attribute has been removed from the Active Directory user object, a brand new Directory Connector will need to be created. This new Directory Connector will be able to gather the current "mail" and "proxyAddresses" attribute status from Active Directory and will remove the association and create the contact object. Once the contact object has been created, the newly created CMN Directory Connector can be safely removed.
