Forwarded Calendar Appointments are broken when Crossware Signature Manager is installed -
Description
A Customer has installed Crossware Signature Solution for Lotus Domino, to append signatures in outbound emails. When a calendar appointment is forwarded, Crossware appends the Signature to the appointment/meeting, and it breaks the MIME format, causing CMN to not be able to identify the appointment/meeting and remediate the item. -
Cause
Crossware operates by appending a MIME/Text Insert, with the customers signature into the MIME format of the body of the message. This will cause issues with forwarded Calendar Appointments as CMN will not be able to identify these items correctly. -
Resolution
Crossware is not Certified for use with CMN.
It is possible to work around this using the following methods
1) Excluding the Forwarded Message Type from the Crossware Configuration. Please review the Crossware WIKI and search for "Allowing emails to be tagged for no Signature". Quest recommends that you reach out to Crossware to discuss this further.
2) Reviewing your Lotus Domino Configuration so that all co-existence messages DO NOT pass through a Crossware Server. As an example of this, Crossware would only be installed on the HUB/SMTP Server and all messages for co-existence users would route directly from the Mail Server to a Server connected to CMN (without Crossware installed). Both of these workarounds are not Supported by Quest Technical Support.
