Exchange FreeBusy lookups fail from time to time. The following exception is logged in the QCalCon log:
System.TimeoutException: This request operation sent to net.tcp://IPAddress/FreeBusyService did not receive a reply within the configured timeout (00:01:00). The time allotted to this operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout. This may be because the service is still processing the operation or because the service was unable to send a reply message. Please consider increasing the operation timeout (by casting the channel/proxy to IContextChannel and setting the OperationTimeout property) and ensure that the service is able to connect to the client.
Restarting the QCalCon task fixes the issue.
You can automate the restart of QCalCon on a schedule following below steps:
1.- Create a txt file in the Lotus Domino Data Directory called qrestart.txt (i.e. c:\program files\ibm\domino\data\qrestart.txt
2.- Make sure the txt file has the following commands:
3.- Test to see if this works by entering < qrestart.txt from the Lotus Domino Server Console, it will then stop and restart qcalcon:
4.- Create a Program Document in the Lotus Domino Directory to schedule this i.e:
5.- Issue a sh sched on the Domino Console and verify the program document you have just created is in the schedule:
