Change Auditor Coordinator log file is not recording data -
Description
The ChangeAuditor Coordinator log file (ChangeAuditor.Service.exe.nptlog) is not recording new data even though the Change Auditor Coordinator service is running.
A log line similar to the following is recorded as the last line of the ChangeAuditor.Service.exe.nptlog log file:
1969-12-31 20:00:00.000 [][][()] '.', hexadecimal value 0x00, is an invalid character. Line 9743, position 1. -
Cause
The ChangeAuditor.Service.exe.nptlog log file is corrupt. -
Resolution
Perform the following to create a new ChangeAuditor.Service.exe.nptlog log file:- Copy the ChangeAuditor.Service.exe.nptlog log file ('%SystemDrive%\Program Files\Quest\ChangeAuditor\Service\) to another location as a backup
- Delete the original '%SystemDrive%\Program Files\Quest\ChangeAuditor\Service\ChangeAuditor.Service.exe.nptlog' log file
- If the file is not automatically recreated after 1-2 minutes, restart the ChangeAuditor Coordinator Service.
