Change Auditor publishes Service Connection Points (SCPs) in Active Directory (AD) to allow Change Auditor Clients and Agents to automatically locate the Change Auditor Coordinator. When Change Auditor Clients or Agents start up, they search AD for the SCP objects in order to retrieve connection information for the Change Auditor Coordinator such as host name, listening port, and other authentication information.
The SCP objects are published directly subordinate to the computer object of the Change Auditor Coordinator in AD. The SCP objects can be viewed using the Microsoft ADSIEdit MMC snap-in.
The coordinator installs and maintains two separate SCPs. The coordinator checks and updates these Active Directory objects each time the coordinator service starts up.
The two Service Connection Point objects for versions of Change Auditor versions 6.9.5 and later are:
- CN=ChangeAuditor.Coordinator
- CN=ChangeAuditor.Repository
The two Service Connection Point objects for versions of Change Auditor prior to 6.9.5 are:
- CN=Dell.ChangeAuditor.Coordinator
- CN=Dell.ChangeAuditor.Repository
You can search for these SCP objects by using the following LDAP query:
(&(objectClass=serviceConnectionPoint)(name=*ChangeAuditor*))
