The Change Auditor Web Client does not connect to the Coordinator after an upgrade -
Description
The Change Auditor web client does connect to the Coordinator after an upgrade. The following error is recorded in the ChangeAuditorWeb.nptlog:
Could not connect to net.tcp://CoordinatorFQDN:port/Service. The connection attempt lasted for a time span of 00:00:02.0003250. TCP error code 10061: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:port -
Cause
By default, Change Auditor dynamically assigns a communication port to be used with eachinstalled coordinator. The coordinator’s machine name (or IP address) and port number are stored in theweb.config file and if you are using a dynamic port assignment, rebooting or upgrading the Change Auditorcoordinator may cause the port number to change. If this happens, you will encounter errors whenattempting to log into the web client, unless you have updated the web.config file with the new portnumber. -
Resolution
Specify a static port in the Coordinator:1. On the server where the Change Auditor coordinator resides, right-click the coordinator system tray iconand select Coordinator Configuration. The Coordinator Configuration tool appears.2. Open the Ports tab and in the Client Port field enter the static port number to be used to communicatewith the coordinator.3. Click OK to save your selection and close the Coordinator Configuration tool.4. Uninstall the Web Client and re-install making sure the Coordinator | Connect to the Coordinator option matches the Client port used above.
