New Agents Fail to connect to a new Coordinator Installation - Failed to open connection to coordinator at endpoint -
Description
In a new Installation of Change Auditor, the Agents are not connecting to the Coordinator. Upon reviewing the ChangeAuditor.dll.nptlog the following warning is recorded:
Failed to open connection to coordinator at endpoint 'net.tcp://******.****.****:51429/Agent/v1'
Where **** is the FQDN of the coordinator
Reviewing the AgentServiceproxy.nptlog the error is shown
Proxy ******.****.****(2c733d38-9bb7-434e-bd59-3cc7c67b8e2f) failed to connect to coordinator
Where **** is the FQDN of the coordinator
Review the exception tab and the message
System.ServiceModel.EndpointNotFoundException: No DNS entries exist for host *****.****.****. ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No such host is known

Cause
There is No DNS Entry for the Coordinator in Active Directory DNS. -
Resolution
Resolution
- Check that the agent can resolve the FQDN of the Coordinator with NSLOOKUP, if it cannot, do the following
- On the Change Auditor coordinator server, open the Ethernet Properties
- Select the IPV version used and select properties
- Select the advanced button
- Select the dns tab
- Check that Register this Connection's addresses in DNS is selected
- From an elevated CMD prompt type: ipconfig /registerDNS
- On the Agent computer, open an elevated CMD prompt type: ipconfig /flushDNS
- Restart the ChangeAuditor Agent Service
- The agents will now connect
