During uninstall of the ChangeAuditor Agent, it prompts for the MSI installer file. The ChangeAuditor Microsoft Installer (MSI) may have left a key in the registry under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\
The key shows that the ChangeAuditor Agent is still installed. Unless you manually delete the key, the ChangeAuditor Agent uninstall or attempt to upgrade the Agent will fail with error message that the older version of ChangeAuditor cannot be removed.
MSI installer cache may have been cleared.
1. Perform registry backup of the follow area of the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\
2. Remove the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\<GUID>
Where <GUID> is the key that has the ProductName subkey listed as: Quest ChangeAuditor Agent (x64) or Quest ChangeAuditor Agent (x32).
