Description
The error returned (either when installing via the console or locally) is "Too many running ITAD drivers found. Reboot is required." -
Cause
When a Change Auditor Agent is upgraded, the ITAD driver isn't unloaded from memory. This driver is only unloaded upon a Domain Controller reboot, as it is a kernal level driver. If the Agent is attempted to be upgraded for a third time without a reboot, this error will be displayed. -
Resolution
A reboot of the Domain Controller is the only option to complete the upgrade of the Change Auditor Agent. If a reboot cannot be completed at the present time, the existing Agent will continue to run, and audit events until such time that a reboot can be completed.
