This article aims to show the speed improvements which have been observed both in lab environments and in real life.
Solution
The information below has been repeated several times in our lab environment, and there is no background ‘special’ configuration. Other users and other processes were active during this testing cycle.
Archive Configuration
There are 5 archives in this test with 5,000 items in each archive. The message size is 100 Kb, and the total data to process is 3.18 Gb
Test 1 – MAPI
Parallelism is set to 5 mailboxes, and 2 items.
Total runtime 41 minutes 2 seconds
MEDIAN: Items/s: [10,33] kb/s: [1520] TSize: [3,67 GiB]
Estimation: 5,47 GiB/h
Test 2 – AIP only
Parallelism is set to 5 mailboxes, and 2 items. The System Configuration was changed to have only AIP as the ingestion provider.
Total run time 10 minutes and 44 seconds

Estimation: 21,68 GiB/h
Summary
There is a 400% increase in speed when using AIP, with the same source data.
