When migrating a mail box you receive the following error in the verbose log.
Set_Mailbox_MDB_DN : PrimarySMTPAddress is empty !
Error: ParseMsgStoreIdentifierXML: Set_Mailbox_MDB_DN failed. ExchangeGuid or PrimarySmtpAddress is missing or invalid
This is because the mailbox did match correctly. Other mailboxes match without a problem but this particular mail file partially fills in the information in the mail file's person document in the Notes Migrator database.
Notes Migrator is not receiving the correctly identifier for the mail file in question. Nothing is amiss with the PS query that Notes Migrator is executing.
When you look at a person document that matched correctly, you can see under the exchange tab on the Notes Migrator person document you can see a value similar to this in the this in the "Modern Auth Mailbox Info (XML) field"
<RecipientType>UserMailbox</RecipientType><LegacyExchangeDN>/o=ExchangeLabs/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Recipients/cn=e4e528b7bb974c2fb0fbd346ddc957f2-Journals 20</LegacyExchangeDN><Alias>Journals2016A</Alias><DisplayName>Journals 2016 A</DisplayName><ServerLegacyDN>/o=ExchangeLabs/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Configuration/cn=Servers/cn=PH0PR05MB7977</ServerLegacyDN><ExchangeGuid>b0a58fb4-f039-4158-881e-ec72dacb8d06</ExchangeGuid><UserPrincipalName>Journals20@acme.com</UserPrincipalName><PrimarySmtpAddress>Journals2016@acme.com</PrimarySmtpAddress><ArchiveName>{}</ArchiveName><ArchiveDomain></ArchiveDomain><EmailAddress>smtp</EmailAddress>
on the mail file that did not correctly match you can see this:
<RecipientType>UserMailbox</RecipientType><LegacyExchangeDN>/o=ExchangeLabs/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Recipients/cn=e7088e5ff5c14187b59e01b969e5ab0f-Journals 20</LegacyExchangeDN><Alias>journals2018</Alias><DisplayName>Journals 2018</DisplayName><ServerLegacyDN>/o=ExchangeLabs/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Configuration/cn=Servers/cn=DM6PR05MB5769</ServerLegacyDN><ExchangeGuid>bf24de53-2791-478f-9a9b-fe2aec03db1e</ExchangeGuid>
The information in the correct matching has the primarysmtpaddress and userpricipalname name filled is ( see what is in BOLD).
As a workaround you can copy the portion in bold from the good match and place it into the incomplete matching of the Modern Auth Mailbox Info (XML) field and modify it to match the mailbox in question.
Initially there is something wrong with the mailbox were is it not returning the full query from powershell and the mailfile should be examined as all other work.
Notes: If you have already sent the file to migrate you will want to remove the backend document, correct the field and then send to migrate again.
