What are the rights and permissions required to run the Metalogix Archive Manager setup? -
Description
Attempts to install Metalogix Archive Manager failed with various errors. -
Cause
The login account used to perform the installation does not have the required rights and permissions. -
Resolution
The requirements for running the setup are listed in the Quick Start Guide, namely:- Administrator/User performing the installation has to be a Domain Administrator and must be allowed to run remote PowerShell scripts.
- Ability to run the setup as an administrator.
By default, a Domain Administrator will be a member of Local Administrator unless modified (e.g. server hardening). As long as the running account meets the requirements, the setup should proceed.
Hence, login using an account credential meeting the requirements, or execute the setup using Run as different user, then specify the required account credentials.
