Performance issue when querying SQL Server databases over 20k tables

Performance of opening new query windows or modifying the stored procedure/function. It takes about 30-50 sec for the first window to open. After the first throttle all new windows for the same database opens fast.
In case of opening a new window for another database the situation is same, first time it takes 30-50 secs, then 1-2 sec. Sometimes it takes even more than 1 min.
The situation is the same even for databases which are not linked to the source control.
But on a server without any linked databases no such problem.
