App registration not letting user connect to Azure hosted SQL Server (4255561)

After using the instructions listed in the KB article https://blog.apexsql.com/using-apexsql-tools-with-azure-active-directory-authentication/

When using MFA authentication method, the login process comes back as Unverified and does not connect to the Azure hosted SQL Server 

The App registration inside the Azure Active Directory needs to be changed to add the following API permissions:

• Azure SQL Server database
  • user_impersonation
• Microsoft Graph
  • offline_access
  • openid
  • profile

   

Once these permissions are added to the App registration, the application will authenticate and connect correctly to the Azure hosted SQL Server.
