Description
How are ALWAYS ON failover SQL Server instances licensed in ApexSQL Audit? -
Resolution
When it comes to the ALWAYS ON Availability Group, the ApexSQL Audit server-side components need to be installed on all nodes of the failover cluster, and ports for all those nodes must be opened.
When it comes to licensing of those instances, one license is needed for each “active node” in the cluster.
Since ApexSQL Audit is licensed per SQL Server instance, any auditing of additional instances, remote or local require a new license.
