Error "Archive database does not appear to be a valid database" during upgrade process (4298101)

When running the Active Administrator Server Configuration Wizard, the following message is displayed when trying to upgrade the Archive Database:

"Archive database does not appear to be a valid database."

To verify whether or not the Archive database was upgraded, log into SQL Server Management Studio and expand Databases, and then expand the Active Administrator Archive database.

• Expand Programmability | Functions | Scalar - valued Functions.
• Highlight dbo.GetDBVersion and right click.
• Select Script Function as | Create To | New Query Editor Window.
• The version of the database will be displayed in red numbering within single quotes.

If the version displayed is older than a supported version for a direct upgrade... In example, AA 8.4 can be directly upgraded to AA 8.6.3, but a direct upgrade is not possible from AA 8.3 or older to AA 8.6.3. Then we can run an upgrade SQL script to upgrade the database to a supported version where we can perform a direct upgrade.
