Active Administrator - Agent cannot be installed - WMI error
When attempting to install the Active Administrator agent from the Collection Agents tab of the Active Administrator Server Manager, an error is encountered
"The auditing agent will not be installed onto computer [Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of the target domain controller)] because the operating system version information could not be obtained. This is most likely caused by either WMI being blocked, or WMI has been disabled."
Ensure the DNS suffix for child domains is added to the NIC on the AA server:
If the issue persists, ensure the AA service account and the Agent account you specify, both have local Administrator rights (member of Domain Admins or Builtin Administrator group in the domain) on each DC in the domain. Login to the AA server as the AA Service account (and the agent account if different) and run wmimgmt.msc. Right click WMI Control and select Connect to another computer. Right click WMI Control again and select Properties. If the account has the correct permissions, the OS information should be returned. If there is an Access Denied error, correct the permissions so that the Service account and agent account can return the OS information through WMI.
