When attempting to connect via the Java Connector and SSL Gateway, the connection errors with the message Unable to launch the application
Java security
Workaround:
TLS 1.0 can be disabled as the connection will then use the equally secure SSL 3.0 and the whole connection is also secured within the SSL Gateway.
1. On the client go into the Java applet within control panel.
2. Select the Advanced tab and then Security options,
3. Deselect the option TLS 1.0. If you disable TLS 1.0 it will use SSl 3.0 which will still encrypt the connection.
2nd Workaround:
With 7.2 WebAccess:
Modify your Secure-IT settings so that the PIT file is downloaded via HTTP.
Under the Web Access Admin site, Click Firewall/SSL VPN
Modify the Internal and External URLs so they are both set to Http://yourwebserver.FQDN/
This way the PIT file will be downloaded via Http, However, the pit file itself is encrypted so should still be secure and the RDP over SSL will still function.
New Improved Workaround:
Change the Ports used by the SSL Gateway and get IIS involved (This may only work if SSL and IIS are on the same box)
You can't have too many processes listening on 443 so do the following:
1. Open the Quest Secure-IT control panel.
2. Move "RDP Proxy" to port 444
3. Turn off the Web Interface Proxy
4. If you have the "Connection Broker Proxy" move this to 444 (Well, make sure it is not 443 anyway)
5. Click OK to save changes and then restart the Quest Secure Socket Layer Gateway service.
6. In the vWorkspace Management Console, Click Websites and open your Website Properties
7. Click Secure Gateway
8. Update your Secure Gateway Port to the one you've just set (444)
9. Click OK to apply your changes and update the Website.
10. In IIS, Click Sites | Default Web Site
11. Edit your Bindings
12. Add HTTPS and select the SSL Gateway certificate.
13. Make sure Port 444 is open through your Firewall (Assuming you have external users)
Status
Waiting for fix in future release of vWorkspace.
