On Foglight Experience Monitor (FxM) or Foglight Experience Viewer (FxV), Error on Dell LCD screen: E2111 SBE log disable DIMM 4
1. That particular DIMM (DIMM number 4 in this case) is loose
2. faulty DIMM (DIMM number 4 in this case)
RESOLUTION 1
Log a case directly with Dell hardware Support without Quest Software as the go-between. Please see SOL42296.
RESOLUTION 2
If you are comfortable, swap out that particular DIMM with one of the other DIMMs (this also means you'll be reseating the DIMM too). The reseating may be all that was needed. In the swap/reseat, if you you swapped DIMM 4 and DIMM1, for example, and the error message becomes E2111 SBE log disable DIMM 1 then that is telling you that that DIMM is definitely faulty. If the error message remains E2111 SBE log disable DIMM 4 then that indicates something wrong with the interface between the DIMM and the rest of the system. Refer to RESOLUTION 1.
In the Dell PowerEdge 2950 Systems: Hardware Owners Manual:
Code:
E2111
Text:
SBE Log Disable Crd # DIMM ##
Causes:
The system BIOS has disabled memory single-bit error (SBE) logging, and will not resume logging further SBEs until the system is rebooted. ## represents the DIMM implicated by the BIOS. If no memory riser card is present, the Crd # string is left out of the message.
corrective Actions:
See Troubleshooting System Memory on page 120.
