When regular users connect to a remote session, they are unable to change the resolution of the display or the DPI settings (Text size). The DPI settings would normally be used to make a global change to the size of the fonts and other user-interface elements; for example to increase the UI legibility.
User can set local DPI setting to 125% or 150%, but only 150% is transitioned to the remote session. Server machine is either Windows 7 SP1 or 2008 R2 server.
This is a limitation of Microsoft RDP. Please see the following Microsoft Article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2544872
For DPI redirection on Windows 7 SP1 and 2008R2 VDI/RDSH, Microsoft released a hotfix, that can be downloaded here: Microsoft DPI for RDP Hotfix
