Many Users are used to Ctrl + Alt + Del and would prefer to press this instead of Ctrl + Alt + End normally required in a RDP session.
Workaround.
It is possible to map any keyboard key to any other key. However, it has to be done on the Client. This only really makes this suitable for certain scenarios, such as Thin Clients that autologin.
In the Workaround below, I swap the End and Del keys
1. Open Regedit
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout
3. Create a new binary value called :
Scancode Map
4. Give this a value of
00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 03 00 00 00 4F E0 53 E0 53 E0 4F E0 00 00 00 00
5. Log out of the Client and Log back in again.
It should be noted that this swaps the keys the whole time so when using word etc, it could be more confusing for the Users. However, the only other way to get this functionality would be to write your own custom Gina that forwards all requests onto MSGina except for capturing Ctrl+alt+del.
