A user performs logoff operation from TS/VDI, however, session persists on a host machine. If there's no GPO/TS setting to log off disconnected and idle sessions, it may stay there indefinitely.
Usually such problems might be caused by this sequence of events:
1) User launched a published application.
2) While working with this application, it spawns another application or hidden process which stays in memory and prevents session from logoff.
To identify the source of the problem and Add the application to the vWorkspace Session Auto-logoff list, perform the following;
1. Have the user log into the Terminal Server and launch the application.
2. From the vWorkspace Management Console, Expand vWorkspace Farm | Locations | Location 1 | Terminal Servers | Right Click on the Terminal Server and select Connect | Expand and select the Username.
3. Select the Processes tab.
4. Have the user close the application. What processes are still running?
5. You can right click on the processes for this user one at a time and end them until the session will log off.
6. Once you discover what process is keeping the session alive Expand vWorkspace Farm | Locations.
7. Right Click on “Locations” and select “Properties”.
8. Select the “Session Auto-Logoff” tab from the Locations Properties window.
9. Add the process name to the module list and click Add and Apply.
10. Have the user test again to see if the process now auto-logs off.
