Menu dropdown is very slow in Windows 10

Running Toad 12.8.0.49 on a Windows 10 desktop and it takes a long time for the drop down menus to fully appear after you click a menu option along the top. The menu gradually fades into focus and you cannot click on an option until the fully menu has appeared.

Sometimes it works fine but most of the time the menus take a lot time to be drawn and it is impossible to work with Toad.

RESOLUTION

1.  Press Windows Key + X combination to see the following menu. Select System in the bottom left corner.#
2.  In the System window, in the left pane, Click on Advanced system settings.
3.  In the System Properties window, pick Settings for Performance.
4.  Uncheck “Fade or slide menus into view”
