When describing an object for the second time in the Editor, using F4, Toad shows the following error:
'Access violation at address 073C581C in module 'Toad.exe'. Read of address 00000024'
Steps:
1. Restart Toad, then open an Editor and type a table name and describe it with F4.
2. In the Describe Window, change the window setting so that is doesn't stay on top
3. Go to Schema Browser and open a package / procedure in the editor
4. Describe a DB object within it
5. The Access Violation error appears when opening the new describe window.
6. Do another describe, and there is no AV error second time round.
7. If you restart Toad and do the same steps, the error appears again, but only for the first time you do step 4.
WORKAROUND:
Ensure that the Describe window is set to open on top
