The Find in Files dialog supports multiple concurrent searches. When you select a result, a preview window displays and stays on top so you can easily compare other results.
Note: This topic focuses on information that may be unfamiliar to you. It does not include all step and field descriptions.
To find in files
- Select Search | Find in files.
- Enter the text you want to find in the Search for field.

Enter the types of files you want to find in the File mask box. For example, *.* searches for all files and *.txt searches for all text files. You can search for multiple file types and separate them with a semicolon, such as *.sql;*.txt (searches for all .sql and .txt files).
- Select options in the Find in Files toolbar to include additional search criteria, such as searching sub-folders and using regular expressions.
- Click .
- Double-click a file in the results to preview it. The preview window stays on top so you can easily compare other results.
