About this release

Quest NetVault Backup (NetVault Backup) Plug‑in for PostgreSQL (Plug‑in for PostgreSQL) 11.1 is a major release, with enhanced features and functionality. For complete product documentation, visit https://support.quest.com/technical-documents.

IMPORTANT: Starting with 10.0, NetVault Backup provides a web-based user interface (WebUI) to configure, manage, and monitor your NetVault Backup system and installed plug-ins. The procedures described in the user’s guide for this version of the plug-in are intended for the new WebUI. For procedures based on the NetVault Backup Console (user interface available with NetVault Backup 9.x), see the documentation for an earlier version of the plug-in.

New features

New features in Plug‑in for PostgreSQL 11.1:

Added support for PostgreSQL 9.4 and 9.5. (30691, 30692)
•
Added support for pure 64-bit Windows. To use the pure 64-bit version of the plug-in, you must use NetVault Backup 11.1 or later. (30839)
•
Added support for Windows Full Server 2012 R2 with PostgreSQL 9.3 and later. (23779)
•
Added support for 64-bit FreeBSD 9.x and 10.x. (30693)
•
Added support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7. (30829)

Enhancements

The following is a list of enhancements implemented in Plug‑in for PostgreSQL 11.1.

Added a Dump Data as Copy Data backup option. Using this option improves the speed of performing restores. By default, the plug-in dumps data using INSERT commands, which reduces the potential for errors during restores.
