About this release

Quest NetVault Backup (NetVault Backup) Plug‑in for SAP on Oracle (Plug‑in for SAP on Oracle) 11.4.5 is a minor release, with enhanced features and functionality. For complete product documentation, visit https://support.quest.com/technical-documents.

Known issues

The following is a list of issues, including issues attributed to third-party products, known to exist at the time of release.

Issue ID

The plug-in currently sends the backup’s saveset ID to brbackup to identify the saveset that contains the backed up set of files. Although you can use data copy and duplicate features to send the saveset to secondary media, do not delete the original saveset because of the corresponding ID assigned to it. The copy sent to the secondary media has a new saveset ID, which means that brtools does not recognize it if you must perform a restore.

Solaris (SPARC):

If you use the Target Client tab to restore data to a third machine, check that the following conditions are met:

•
The target Client machine must be running the same operating system (OS) as the machine on which the original backup was made from.
•
The target Client machine must be running the same version of the plug-in.

Inaccurately specifying the target Client could result in data being restored to the wrong machine.

DNSP-14 (16662, SBG‑27)

IBM AIX:

•
Function of Device option in Backint parameter file.
•
The plug-in does not handle sparse files as sparse. Restoring files causes sparse files to be restored as non-sparse.
•
The plug-in does not operate through firewalls.
•
After an evaluation license expires, the plug-in does not indicate that it is not licensed in the About dialog box.
•
Physically removing a device during a Backint backup does not cause the job to fail.
