Select how Spotlight sends support bundle emails

You can set the message service that Spotlight uses when sending email. These are the settings used by Spotlight when it sends a support bundle to Quest Software.

Note: The Spotlight Diagnostic Server uses different settings to send email when an alarm is raised. See "Configure the Mail Server Used by the Spotlight Diagnostic Server" (page 1) for more information.

To set the Spotlight mail server

1. Click Configure | Spotlight.

   

2. Select Troubleshooting | Select how Spotlight sends support bundle emails.

3. Select the service you want Spotlight to use when sending email.

   Service	Description
   Messaging Application Program Interface (MAPI)	A standard Windows interface.
   Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP)	An independent TCP/IP protocol. Click Change SMTP settings to set SMTP mail options.
