Spotlight on SQL Server Enterprise Extended Events causes SQL backups to hang
说明

Spotlight with Extended Events monitoring enabled can cause backup issues with SQL 2008R2 Servers. The problems cause backups to hang and the only fix is a restart of the SQL Service.
原因

Microsoft investigated and concluded after analysis that Spotlight is rapidly using Extended Events against the SQL 2008R2 Servers, causing an issue.
解决办法

WORKAROUND
There is currently no workaround for this issue. However, please note that disabling Extended Events on an per connection basis is possible in the latest version of Spotlight on SQL Server Enterprise (11.6.1), which can be downloaded through the following link.
