New features:
Federation - A Spotlight Client can now monitor connections from many Spotlight Diagnostic Server in a federation. Spotlight Clients in the federation share the same custom views, templates, alarm actions and list of planned outages. Refer to the new Spotlight on SQL Server Enterprise Federation Guide. Preview changes - When applying the configuration of a template or connection to one or more connections, you can now preview all settings that are different to the Factory Settings in addition to just the settings where the customized settings have changed.
Spotlight Diagnostic Server - A new Spotlight Diagnostic Server home page shows status information for the Spotlight Diagnostic Server connected to the Spotlight Client.
Log of User Actions - Spotlight now maintains an audit log of user actions. The log is a historical record of who changed what configuration when. To locate this file, on the Diagnostic Server host, locate the default Diagnostic Server installation folder which by default is: C:\Program Files\<Dell or Quest Software>\Diagnostic Server. From there, change subdirectories to \Agent\log and locate UserActionLog.csv
Enhancements:
ID 3212 - When monitoring SQL Server, Extended Events can now be disabled per connection.
ID 5695 - You can now update the timezone information of the JVM.
ID 5636 - Spotlight can now be used to monitor SQL Server 2016 in a replication environment.
ID 5144- Connections to SQL Server are now encrypted by default. Connections to SQL Server are unencrypted only when attempts to connect encrypted fail.
