Can Shareplex Manager be used for monitoring Shareplex instance on target server without access to the source server?

Answer is not.

The reason is that, in order for Shareplex Manager to monitor the Shareplex replication instance, shareplex replication stream that consists of source and target instances needs to be identified by Shareplex Manager. The way Shareplex Manager identifies the stream is to gather source server information, log on the source server and then read the Shareplex config file to identify the source and corresponding target(s). Without access to source server, Shareplex stream cannot be identified, therefore, monitoring the target instance is not possible.
