What ports need to be opened in the firewalls between the server where
Shareplex Manager/Foglight is running and the servers where Shareplex is
running?
Shareplex Manager connects directly to the Shareplex port (default 2100) on each source and target. Any firewall between SharePlex Manager and each SharePlex instance needs to be configured. SharePlex Manager functions like sp_ctrl using the onHost directive. So Shareplex Manager server machine should be able to communicate with the shareplex servers through shareplex port.

How is the Shareplex Manager tool launched? Is it from a browser on
your desktop? What port needs to be opened in the firewall?
SharePlex Manager is a thin client (web only). You can connect using any supported web browser by going to the SharePlex Manager host url and specifying the port (default 8080).
Is a license key required to be installed? Is it the same as the
Shareplex license key?
A SharePlex Manager key is applied during installation. No additional steps are required to license SharePlex Manager for use with SharePlex. Refer to Shareplex Manager Installation Guide for more details.
What type of footprint is required for data storage? Are there any recommendations?
It is strongly recommended to install SharePlex Manager and Foglight on a dedicated host matching the requirements as documented. The system requirements are dictated by number of concurrent users, number of Streams (source & target) being monitored, and whether the embedded database is used. The base recommendation should reasonably support monitoring of around 20 streams and several concurrent users.
