Using Virtual Mailboxes in Quest Archive Manager to Save Searches and Export Results

With Virtual Mailboxes in Quest Archive Manager, you can conveniently save searches performed in the GUI and export the results using Recovery Manager for Exchange. To achieve this, follow these steps:

Step 1: Create a Virtual Mailbox and Folder

1.1. Open the Quest ArchiveManager Admin Website.

• Navigate to "Administration."
• Under "Mailboxes," click "Add a Mailbox."

1.2. Create a Virtual Mailbox:

• Define the desired name for your Virtual Mailbox.
• Configure any additional settings or permissions as needed.
• Click "Save" to create the Virtual Mailbox.

1.3. Create a Folder within the Virtual Mailbox:

• Inside the newly created Virtual Mailbox, navigate to the "Folders" section.
• Click "Add a Folder."
• Specify a name for the Folder.
• Set folder permissions or any other relevant settings.
• Click "Save" to create the Folder.

Step 2: Perform a Search and Select Results

2.1. Access ArchiveManager's search functionality and perform your desired search query.

2.2. Review the search results and select all the items you want to export. 

Step 3: Export the Selected Results

3.1. Once you have selected the desired search results, export them to the Virtual Mailbox:
3.2. ArchiveManager will begin exporting the selected items into the previously created Folder within the Virtual Mailbox.

Step 4: Access Exported Data with Recovery Manager for Exchange

4.1. Launch Recovery Manager for Exchange

4.2. Connect to your Archive Manager environment within Recovery Manager.

4.3. Navigate to the Virtual Mailbox and Folder where you exported the data from ArchiveManager.

4.4. You can now access and work with the exported data using Recovery Manager for Exchange, this should bypass the need to query every single folder and mail item as this is already indexed in the Virtual Mailbox
