The Machine ID is an alphanumeric string that follows the format X-XXXX-XXX. There're multiple ways to get the Machine ID:
1) From NetVault WebUI, on the left navigation pane, click Manage Clients. Select the system that need to be identified and press the [Manage] button. On the View Client screen, the Machine ID will be listed near the middle within the Client Summary section.

2) On the left navigation pane, select View Reports. Use the field on the upper right corner and search for the Client Details report. Then, press the [👁️Run & View] button. The second column lists the Machine ID for all NetVault systems added to the server.

3) From the system that needs to be identified, open a command line prompt, (e.g. CMD, PowerShell, SSH, etc.). Navigate to the NetVault installation folder and inside the util subdirectory, run the getmachineid command. On Windows, run CMD or Powershell as administrator. In Linux, please run the command with root privilege.
C:\Program Files\Quest\NetVault\util>getmachineid Machine Id = '3-2JAK-EL9' |
/usr/netvault/util/getmachineid Machine Id = '3-2JAK-EL9' |
4) From NetVault 13 web console, selects License Management. The value for the different systems will be displayed under the Machine ID column.
