Restore from tape fails with error "NDMP data does not start on a block boundary" from NDMP backup
We are trying to restore from NDMP backups taken from a FluidFS 8600, however every time we try an error is returned;
"NDMP data does not start on a block boundary"
Followed by;
(IBM ULTRIUM-TD6): had channel error
原因

You back up the data as “Fluid FS| NDMP | Smartdisk | Datacopy | Tape”
NDMP data relies BOTH on block size and offset and they need to be in sync.
NVSD is hardcoded to run @ 32KB
解决办法

Workaround:
1. Change the block size on Drives to 32Kib.
2. Restart the Library
3. Datacopy from SmartDisk to VTL [Block Size =32Kib]
4. Restore from VTL
