SQL Server Database Requirements for Multi MPAD/DirSync Pro Server Installations (4380749)

This article outlines the SQL Server database configuration requirements for environments deploying multiple instances of Quest Migrator Pro for Active Directory (MPAD) or DirSync Pro. 

To ensure a stable and supported deployment of Quest Migrator Pro for Active Directory (MPAD) or DirSync Pro, each MPAD or DirSync Pro server must be configured with its own dedicated SQL database. Sharing a single database across multiple MPAD/DirSync Pro servers is not supported and may result in data corruption and unpredictable behavior.

It is strongly recommended that the SQL Server database server is dedicated to SQL Server. This server can host other SQL databases, but should serve no other purpose than being a SQL Server database server.

Supported Configuration

• Multiple MPAD servers can share the same SQL Server instance.
• Each MPAD server must use a separate SQL database within that instance.

Unsupported Configuration

• Sharing a single SQL database between multiple MPAD servers is not supported.
• This setup can lead to:
