Are there any log files reflecting the migration of computers when using RUM (Resource Updating Manager)? Where can such log files be found?
All previous version up to QMM 8.5 and above, did resource updating differently. The information below applies to RUM in QMM 8.5 and above.
Starting with QMM 8.5 and above, RUM stores the log files in the following location:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Aelita Shared\Migration Tools\Resource Updating\Logs\MACHINENAME\
This change has been implemented to have all the logs located in the same folder. That one single folder contains all of the logs related to a particular computer and the logs cover all of the procedures performed - discovery, processing, moving, cleanup.
Note: When troubleshooting any issues related to computer migration one can also use the %WINDIR%\Debug\NetSetup.log. Starting with QMM 8.5 and above, RUM is utilizing the native Microsoft function NetJoinDomain and this function creates a log called NetSetup.log. This log is not created by QMM or by RUM, but the log can be used when troubleshooting computer migration issues. In QMM 8.4, the RUM was placing the log file (when moving a computer) under %Program Files%\Common Files\Aelita Shared\Migration Tools\Resource Updating\RUMController.log
