After users are switched, mail redirection stops working. Mail sent to the source user is arriving in the source mailbox, rather than redirecting to the target mailbox.
When inspecting the source account, the targetaddress attribute has been cleared.
This may be caused by (but not limited to):
1. The source mailbox has been moved to another Information Store using Exchange. This will clear the targetaddress attribute. For more information on this cause, please see SOL21995: https://support.quest.com/SUPPORT/index?page=solution&id=SOL21995&pmv=true
2. The user(s) involved are part of another synchronization job in another domain pair. The resolution section refers to this cause.
If a source domain is involved in two synchronization jobs, similar to the following:
1. DomainA->DomainB
2. DomainA->DomainC
It is important that the source scopes be separate for each sync job. In other words, the same source objects should not participate in two sync jobs.
If not, the following problem may occur:
If UserA is migrated in sync job 1 and switched, the targetaddress attribute will be populated on the source. However, if that user is also being synchronized by sync job 2, and this job considers this user as not switched, it will remove the targetaddress attribute from the source object.
If you have a source domain participating in two synchronization jobs, and are experiencing this issue, please verify your source scopes to ensure that any given object only participates in a single synchronization job.
