Desktop Authority Password Self-Service 4.x
Title
The item referred to by this shortcut cannot be accessed.
Problem Description
After the initial installation Password Self-Service sites cannot be accessed by the shortcuts and the error “The item referred to by this shortcut cannot be accessed. You may not have the appropriate permissions.” is displayed, as shown below:

Cause
This behavior is suspected to be caused by User Account Control (UAC) on Windows 2008.
Resolution
Access each folder where the “Admin”, “Helpdesk”, and “User” site shortcuts reside:
C:\Program Files\ScriptLogic\Desktop Authority Password Self-Service\Web\QPM\Admin
C:\Program Files\ScriptLogic\Desktop Authority Password Self-Service\Web\QPM\HelpDesk
C:\Program Files\ScriptLogic\Desktop Authority Password Self-Service\Web\QPM\User
This will prompt the security warning “You don’t currently have permissions to access this folder.” which will provide the necessary permissions. Click “Continue” on each warning and then the shortcuts will function properly.

Additional Information
Windows Server 2008 R2 and UAC and "you don't currently have permission to access this folder.”
