Stop and start (restart) order of Foglight components for SQL PI (4226790)

The SQL PI Infobright database will be started by PI Repository Manager Agent automatically. To avoid the Infobright database corrupted by Server hard restart, the Quest R&D team recommends the following start/stop order:

Start Order:

1. FMS Database Repository
2. Foglight Management Server
3. Fglam - SQL PI Repository Infobright DB
4. Fglam – SQL Server agents with SQL PI

Stop Order:

1. Fglam – SQL Server agents with SQL PI
2. Fglam - SQL PI Repository Infobright DB
3. SQL PI Repository Infobright DB
4. Foglight Management Server
5. FMS Database Repository

The stop / start order consists of the following steps

1. Stop the FglAM where DB agents reside
2. Stop the FglAM where PI repository resides.
3. Stop Infobright (pg_ctl stop -w -t 60 --pgdata="%Infobright_Home\pg_data\" --ibdatadir="%Infobright_Home\ib_data\" -s -m fast). Please refer to KB 232387 (Linux) and KB 232383 for more details
4. Stop the FMS.
5. Start the FMS
6. Start the FglAM where PI repository resides
7. Start the FglAM where DB agents resides
