How to: prevent Rapid Recovery from backing up SQL databases (4042081)

Sometimes there's a necessity to prevent Rapid Recovery from backing up SQL databases in all instances. To do that please perform the following steps:

- open Core console
- click on the agent name with the SQL on the left pane
- on the right pane, click on Settings and scroll down to the list of excluded VSS writers
- select SqlServerWriter and set it to Yes

This will prevent Rapid Recovery agent software from initiating SQL VSS writer

Additionally, there are 2 things than need to be checked:
- click on Settings (gearbox) on the core console iconbar in top-left corner
- select Nightly Jobs and click on Change
- scroll to Check SQL Attachability and SQL Log truncation options
- expand the list by clicking on the triangle and make sure that the agent is not selected in the list
